Java Programming (1.5) Project

Software developer required with knowledge and expertise of Java, servelets, html and jsp's. I have had a programmer/ friend develop a prototype of a software product that I have designed.

The program:
A Program which invites a user to complete some details - 7 measurements in a form and answer up to four subsequent questions - and in return the program provides the user with a 'profile' - one of twelve.
The central 'engine' is programmed using Java 1.5 and provides methods which calculate a big / small / medium identifier from passed measurements. The engine also provides the question trail, which can vary depending on the answers provided. The trial engine enables the quickest path to be taken in the smallest number of request cycles providing an easier customer journey. At the end of the trail the engine will provide the calculated profile of the user. At the back end the engine also is able to store user details and would allow marketing information (MI) to be displayed / retrieved. This product will sit in an online internet environment.

The program is working and in testing i have not found any programming problems but as the prgrammer would say himself - it is completely unpolished - could be hacked into easily etc. What I need is someone who can:
a) add the security protection that someone might expect in a prototype of a product of this nature.
b) add a couple of additional elements - I want to add two more forms for the user to complete which captures details that would go to a database (I do not need to have this all singing all dancing for my demos - I imagine it would be possible to transfer the details entered into the form into a spreadsheet for now just to demo the functionality). I say this as it would probably be the customer of the product that would already have their own databases in place.
c) redesign the visual impact of the program - I have good graphics - but I need the way it looks on screen to change. Headings, text font etc. The items that need to be more impactful are currently too small ... and yet text that is not that important ... is taking all the focus. Basically there needs to be a redefinition of what is the priority in front of the user.
d) There are text areas that need replacing.
e) And perhaps one of the more important aspects - currently there is no 'idiot' proofing. It works with what is supposed to be entered - however I need it to block incorrect entries. I need a button added to say entering in 'inches' or 'cms' and then need the system to recognise they are entering one or other by having an acceptable range programmed in. Finally the system is currently programmed for inches only so will need to be adjusted to accept cms.

Well my background is not technical but whoever took on this project would have access to discuss with the original programmer / receive a technical brief. The programmer works full time and will not be available for ongoing questions so this needs to be someone who can pick up a project and run with it themselves. I also know that the skill base of a programmer may not necessarily sit often with graphic design type skills - but if I could work with someone who can not only program but also make the visuals pleasing too that would help a lot.

Remember it is only a demo version. I would do the 'real work' when I have got my first customer - ie I do not have any income from the product yet! However of course whoever does this work - it could lead to further work in the future.
