Description
Experience Level: Expert
I would like a Facebook application which is a multiple choice test using a pool of questions and figures I will provide. As an example of the style of the required test, see a Flash version of practically the same hosted here: http://www.inductivereasoning.co.uk/NumericalTest1/ (note contact references have been removed from this domain for the PPH listing).
Essentially the Facebook application will be significantly similar to the above Flash test with the only exceptions being: a) the questions must be randomly selected from a pool of questions and associated multiple choice answers; b) the percentile score on the results page is not required; c) the layout of figures and questions is allowed to differ from the Flash test above if it better suits the Facebook interface.
In addition to the general description of the test given above, I have listed specific features required of the Facebook application:
1) There should be 20 questions in each test.
2) One of the first screens should allow the user to select whether they want to take a Numerical test, a Verbal test, or Inductive test.
3) The test should have a time limit (adjustable time set by me) with the remaining time displayed.
4) The 20 questions should be randomly selected from a pool of questions that I provide. I will provide a pool of questions for each of the categories Numerical, Verbal, Inductive. (size of question pool will be about 100 questions for each category but I would like the facility to add and remove questions to the question pool whenever I choose). In other words the application should link to an online database which I can update.
5) The graphics should pre-load before the test begins.
6) Each question will need to relate to a figure (size 560x360 pixels) with 4 multiple choice answers.
7) The user must be able to go backwards and forwards within the test to review and change their answers.
8) The application must automatically mark the user's responses and display a results page at the end of the test which tells the user their score, the average time they spent on each question, display their responses to each question and whether their responses were correct or incorrect. For an example of how the results page should look, see the Flash test referred to above but note the percentile score is not required in this Facebook application.
9) The user will have the option at the end of the test to publish to their wall the result they scored in the test, for example 'John Smith just scored 12/20 in the application Aptitude Test Practice'. The user will also have the option to publish the same message on the home pages of either: Everyone; Friends and Networks; Friends of Friends; Only Friends, or Customize. This message should have a text link to the application webpage.
10) The user will have the option at the end of the test to invite their friends to take the test.
11) At the end of the test, on the results page, there will be displayed an advert which links to my website when clicked on.
12) I will provide all graphics for the question figures and all graphics for the test application (e.g. thumbnail icon, buttons, header/footer, advert etc.)
Not knowing much about Facebook application development, I will take guidance from the developer on how best to implement these features and also take guidance on the technical feasibility of the requirements. Please get in touch with any questions. Thank you.
