Description
Experience Level: Expert
We need a simple-ish Android app created.
FUNCTIONALITY:
The app is part of a stock control system; and is to collect stock and sales information from local agents. It needs to:
1) Have input forms covering inventory and sales for the agent to enter (we have a web app to add Points of Sale (POS); agents and the like; so the input only has to be fairly simple and cover inventory and sales at a particular POS)
2) Store the information locally
3) Have an "Update now" button so that the agent can update the database (and get updated) when s/he gets into wifi range
4) Be encrypted between the app and the database (the agents will be broadcasting from insecure locations like wifi cafes); ideally not using SSL. We used http://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/aes-php.html for the web interface; but we're open to suggestions here.
Other relevant info:
We're going to be using tablets running Android 4.0; with a 800x480 pixels screen.
The budget is a guess.
Even though it's Android; we'd much prefer that nothing gets broadcast to Google.
Thanks for reading this description; and good luck applying.
Darren
EDIT: To be a little more specific; the "Update Now" will FETCH updated POS and Product information from the database and SEND stock information back to the database. And bail out gracefully if no internet is detected.
The stock information will report 4 changes:
SOLD - If a unit has been sold; the database will remove it from stock
ADD TO POS - This will add one (or more) units of a particular product to the POS and remove it from the Agent's inventory
ADD TO AGENT - This will remove one (or more) units of a particular product from the POS and add it to the Agent's inventory. This is so we can move stock around in an area if we're running low on units.
LIMBO - This is for special cases...if a product is sent to limbo (if it's stolen or damaged, for example) there must be a reason entered.
We'd also like a report page, so agents can tell what stock a particular POS is supposed to be carrying, so we can stock-take on the fly.
The stock updating page will consist of:
POS (drop-down or whatever; but space is limited) so the agent can select the POS he's in
Multiple rows of:
MODEL (Drop down) NUMBER (amount of units we're talking about drop-down 1-10)) ACTION (drop-down with SOLD, ADD to POS, ADD to AGENT, LIMBO)
NOTE: If LIMBO is selected; there must be an input for "Reason for Limbo"...this can pop up or however you choose to do it; but remember screen space is limited.
