Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am looking for a developer to build a reliable business automation workflow for selling Microsoft 365 subscriptions through my WordPress website.
UK-based freelancers preferred.
The goal is to reduce manual admin by automating the customer onboarding, Microsoft 365 setup, invoicing, payment recording, and notification process.
Systems involved:
* WordPress website
* Stripe or GoCardless
* Microsoft 365 / Office 365
* Microsoft Graph API
* Xero
* Email notifications
* Automation platform such as Make.com, Power Automate, n8n, Zapier, or custom API integration
The workflow should:
1. Trigger only after payment is confirmed
2. Create the Microsoft 365 user account
3. Assign the correct Microsoft 365 licence
4. Send onboarding/login email to the customer
5. Create or update customer in Xero
6. Create the correct Xero invoice
7. Mark invoice as paid/reconciled where appropriate
8. Notify me if any step fails
9. Include clear logging/error handling
10. Include plain-English handover notes
Important:
This is NOT just a simple website project. I need someone experienced with APIs, automation workflows, Microsoft Graph, and Xero integrations.
Please explain:
* How you would build this
* Which platform/tools you would use
* Your experience with Microsoft Graph API and Xero
* How you would handle failed orders or automation errors
* Whether you recommend splitting recurring renewals into Phase 2
Please do not send generic AI-generated proposals.
Budget is for an MVP/Phase 1 build first.

Hi Andy, to keep the MVP tightly scoped, should Phase 1 be built around Stripe or GoCardless as the confirmed-payment trigger first?
-

Hi Andy,
Please provide me the following information:
-Current WordPress/WooCommerce setup
-Stripe or GoCardless preference
-Microsoft 365 tenant details
-Licence types/SKUs
-Xero organisation setup
-Existing onboarding emails/process
-Hosting/server preference
-Whether automation platform should be self-hosted
My recommendation would be to build a robust MVP first.
Also, please let me know if you'd like to review our similar systems.
Looking forward to your response.
Best Regards.
