Description
Experience Level: Entry
I am the founder of a legitimate UK web design agency (Chell Web & Design,
chellwebdesign.com) and I have been the victim of an active impersonation
fraud campaign since 20 April 2026.
Someone has created a fake Gmail account (hello.chellwebdesign@gmail.com)
using my full name, photo, job title, and business name to send fraudulent
emails to my clients and contacts. The emails pose as a "website compliance
check" and escalate to demand $300 USD for fake SEO and ADA remediation
services, with fabricated deadlines to pressure victims into paying.
I have already:
- Reported the account to Google via their abuse form
- Filed a report with Action Fraud (crime ref: #can be requested)
- Notified all known clients via email newsletter and social media
- Identified at least 10 confirmed recipients
I need an expert who can help me with one or more of the following:
1. ACCOUNT TAKEDOWN — Navigate Google's reporting and escalation systems
effectively to get hello.chellwebdesign@gmail.com suspended as quickly
as possible. I need someone who knows how to escalate beyond standard
abuse forms and get this in front of a human at Google.
2. SOURCE INVESTIGATION — Help me understand how the fraudster may have
obtained a targeted list of my specific clients' email addresses, and
identify any potential data breach or account compromise on my end. I presume it's simply from my porfolio page fo my site which shares my clients.
3. ONGOING PROTECTION — Advise on steps I can take to protect my business
identity, monitor for new fraudulent accounts, and prevent this from
happening again.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Experience with Google abuse escalation / account takedown processes
- Background in cybersecurity, digital fraud, or online brand protection
- Familiarity with UK fraud reporting processes and GDPR data breach
obligations
- Has successfully helped individuals or businesses shut down impersonation
accounts before
This is urgent. The fraudulent account is still potentially active and
clients have already responded positively to the scammer. I need someone
who can act quickly and knows exactly how to navigate this.
Please outline your relevant experience and your proposed approach in
your application.
