Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Current Situation:
I have an eCommerce website selling skin care products. The website address is www.perfectskincare.org. The website has approx 150 products. The CMS used is VPASP v7 Deluxe & PayPal is the gateway. The platform is ASP (Windows).
I purchased this established business a few months ago and have not got any training on the CMS as the Seller is refusing to cooperate. I personally do not find VPASP very user friendly, but this may be because I have not had the relevant training or as I am new to CMS's.
Having spoken to several web design companies and researched I come to the conclusion that PHP platforms are the way forward; e.g. greater efficiency, more user friendly and open source hence easier to work with. I have been advised/researched that the following CMS’s are ideal in regards to the size of my eCommerce Website; PrestaShop, OpenCart, osCommerce
Work Required:
I would like the website completely redesigned and a new CMS would be ideal. I would like the Logo to be redesigned, a payment gateway to be integrated alongside PayPal. The CMS should have the following; user friendly, unlimited products/categories, full control of website, vouchers, multi-currency, unlimited emails, auto email notifications, and much more. Basically everything that top CMS's on the market offer and customization where required. I would also require SEO work done to maintain the website's current ranking in Google for specific keywords, and improving on this to gain an edge on my competitors. Business hosting as well.
On the whole I would like the whole website redesigned including the CMS. However I do not want to compromise by having a new CMS which provides less functionality than my current CMS due to naivety. In that case I would rather just redesign the skin of the site. Could you please advise what is the best route for me especially if you have had the experience of working with a vast number of CMS's and what your time frame would be.
