Sort out an error that appears when i log in my Opencart admin section

Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Num. of web pages/modules: 1
Description of every page/module: I have been geting an error each time i try to log in into my Opencart admin dashboard since yesterday.
The error is as follows:
Notice: Error: MySQL server has gone away
Error No: 2006
SELECT * FROM `oc_language` in /home/dl/public_html/system/database/mysql.php on line 50
I checked on the server and everything is ok and as it was before.
Description of requirements/features: I need this fixed as soon as possible.
Please indicate how long you will take to solve this.
