Our Shopify website contains 12,000+ products and supports customers, suppliers, fabricators, installers and industry professionals across the UK.

We are looking for an experienced Shopify Developer, Shopify Manager or Shopify Agency with expertise in:

- Shopify theme development and upgrades
- Shopify app development

Project Objective

The objective is to transform our website into a faster, smarter, scalable and future-ready ecommerce marketplace platform.

We are not looking for simple design changes. We require a technically experienced professional who can improve platform architecture, performance, automation, marketplace functionality and future scalability.

Scope of Work

- Complete Shopify technical audit including theme, customisations, apps, integrations, APIs, Liquid, JavaScript, CSS, performance, SEO and technical risks.
- Upgrade the existing Shopify theme to the latest stable compatible version, migrate essential customisations, improve code structure, resolve conflicts and ensure smooth deployment.
- Improve website performance including Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile performance, JavaScript/CSS optimisation, image optimisation and third-party app script management.
- Optimise technical SEO and product catalogue structure including collections, metafields, variants, filtering, schema, internal linking, sitemap, indexing, redirects, canonical tags and Google Merchant Centre readiness.
- Implement practical AI and LLM solutions such as AI search, product recommendations, AI chatbot, quotation assistance, AI-generated content, enquiry classification, lead qualification and catalogue automation.
- Review the current Webkul marketplace setup, identify limitations, compare alternative solutions and recommend whether to improve Webkul, migrate, build custom functionality or create a hybrid Shopify and Next.js-coded marketplace architecture.
- Develop a Shopify connector app connecting the Shopify website with a Next.js code website, including secure authentication, product synchronisation, supplier mapping, enquiry transfer, quotation requests, notifications, activity logs and reporting.
- Improve automation workflows including product updates, supplier updates, stock updates, customer enquiries, CRM integrations, reporting dashboards, Google Merchant Centre feeds and Next.js-coded website synchronisation.
- Complete testing, documentation and handover including technical documentation, API documentation, AI documentation, migration records, training videos and team handover.
