Magento Re-link new site to live status

General information for the website: Magento site hook up
Description of requirements/features: HI I just need assistance in getting site live as time is not on my side today , swapping out the old for the new.

All files and database are all ready and in there, just need to update the local.xml and sort the url in database (php my admin side) and sort the redirect

If you can help that would great please let me know. It should be easy if you know what you are doing!
Magento and phpmyadmin experience is a must
