Hi,
We have an ongoing issue where orders are being counted multiple times in Google Analytics. This means our order volume and revenue figures are wrong, and has become a reporting nightmare.
I believe if a user refreshes or visits the "order received"/"thank you page" via a bookmark, its counting their transaction more than once.
I need you to find a solution to only count a thank you page visit once per order, by making the thank you page only load once.
I believe another solution would be to setup the goal to fire on an event. It is currently setup to fire on page url, so changing it to fire on the purchase event might work?
I'll accept any solution to this, but the only thing i don't want is adding filters to Google Analytics to exclude duplicate transactions as this is just masking the issue.
We run off Woocommerce/Wordpress. Our site is www.kallysleep.com
The GA tag is setup through Google Tag Manager.
Attached are:
- GA goal setup
- GA dupes example
Thanks
