Description
Experience Level: Expert
Summary:
New website to be designed and developed from scratch, front and back end.
Existing Website:
This was designed in 2006. One of the major considerations at that time was to ensure the site was accessible to view in all browsers. This meant avoiding technologies known to cause problems such as Java, Flash, frames, etc.
The site was deliberately designed to be simple and uncluttered to make it clear to the customer where to go and not be distracted from the purpose of their visit (to browse and purchase tracks).
Vision:
As both the catalogue and customer base has grown (catalogue now holds over 1300 tracks and the customer base to over 4000), the functionality of the database is not as comprehensive as it needs to be.
The site now looks out-dated, partly through the non-use of technologies, and has a somewhat “clunky” feel to it. The navigation is not as clear as it should be, and major features that are found on other e-commerce sites today are missing (both front and back end).
Please read the attached draft specs document BEFORE quoting / bidding to ensure we do not waste everybody's time. Previous experience of developing similar sites is preferred.
Your portfolio must ideally demonstrate large e-commerce / complex sites.
