UniCenta oPOS - Connect Unicenta to MySql database

General information for the business: POS
Database management system (DBMS): MySQL
Description of requirements/functionality: I need Unicenta oPOS 3.91.3 up and running on windows 10 and so far I'm stuck on how to connect it to MySql database.
Thus far I have:
1. Java 8_101 for Windows 64bit installed
2. unicentaopos-3.91.3-windows-installer installed & working. I just need to tell the configuration where to connect to MySql database.
3. mysql-installer-community-5.7.14.0. This is where it gets all confusing. I'm unsure what to do next to get it all running. So how/when can you help me understand how to get this setup working?
How have you experienced unicenta yourself and got it working with MySql database?
What else can you recommend going forward? (I'm on GMT+1 timezone)
