Description
Experience Level: Expert
Platform: Oracle 10 Database
Windows 2003 SP2 Enterprise Server OS
Task to develop 2 Web Services A & B
Task A: Develop code that sits on the platform and that can be triggered by changes in the Oracle database. Use data assembled by a view to consume (Send this data to) an external Web Service. The external web service is based on SQL Server 2005 on Win2003 Small Business server, however this is not part of the development task except where used for end-to-end testing. The number of fields to be sent is less than 30 and limited to simple data i.e. short Varchars and Integers. The volume of activity is low and at worst could peak to 500 a day.
Task B: Develop code that sits on the platform and that can be consumed by an external web service (i.e. receives data via web service into Oracle from external consuming SQL Server web service). The web service will receive up to 5 fields of simple data and dependant on content will cause updates to around 3 Oracle tables. The volume of activity is very low and at worst could peak to 100 a day.
Security:
Both web services should be private and require the exchange of usercode/password credentials to be used.
Commissioning and testing:
1. Produce a simple step by step document to installing the code and activation of any processes needed to support these web services.
2. Deploy the code to the oracle db server
3. Carry out testing, if necessary without the complimentary SQL Server web services to verify correct operation of the web services on the Oracle server.
Please provide the following:
1. A cost estimate to carry out the above work.
2. How many days from approval this work would take to carry out.
3. A list of any supporting software or assumptions for the running of these web services.
