Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: Less than 1 hour for Experienced Candidate
This project is specialised.
The task is to create a 'Linked Tables' in Microsoft SQL Server from an ODBC Source. Sounds simple?
The ODBC Data source is a 32 bit custom driver made by Elevate Software - DBISAM. The MSQL Server is of course a 64bit machine. The ODBC data source is accessible through many applications including Visual Studio so it must be possible to create a linked table in SQL Server.
The reason for creating a linked table is to allow easier app development by apps connecting to the Microsoft SQL Server and running queries that are in turn run on the DBISAM database - thus removing the need to keep connecting to DBISAM directly.
This task should be really easy for anyone who has done this before - should take less than an hour for someone with experience.
Candidates must demonstrate experience in creating such a connection.
Many thanks
