Hello,
For my online business, I have created my own Access database but I need some help with VBA. When I receive orders via Outlook E-Mail and process them in Access, I then need to create a folder for my customer in Outlook to store all e-mail correspondence with that customer. In Outlook, I have a folder called “Customers” in which I have 26 sub folders with each letter of the alphabet. For example, for customer Joe Smith, I would create a folder called “Smith, Joe” which is a subfolder in “S” located under “Customers”.
In my Access database, I have created a button that creates this folder for me and I send you the code that I use in a Word document. While this code works fine, the problem that I have is that the new folder is not active. When I create a new folder in Outlook manually, I then can right click any e-mail, go to “Move” and I will find my new folder right there to move that email to this new folder. This feature does not work with my VBA code and I need to find the new folder manually in between hundreds of other folders and then drag my e-mail there. (Of course, once I drag a single e-mail there, the folder then will be available under “Move” if I need to move additional e-mails to the same folder.)
I would like to ask if you can make changes to my code (or provide a new one) that will make my new folder in Outlook active so it will show when right clicking an e-mail and select “Move”.
Btw., I do have another button in Access that opens and shows my Outlook folder but it only helps me to quickly locate the folder, memorize its location and then drag my e-mails there.
If at all possible, I also would like another button in Access that will automatically move all selected e-mails in Outlook to my customer folder. For this feature, it would be great if that can happen regardless where the original e-mail is located but if limited, most of the time I need to move e-mails that are currently in my “Inbox” or “Sent Items”.
Please let me know if you can help.
Regards,
Steffen Morning
