Couple of hours work with MySQL and PHP

Hi I have a website that runs PHP and MySQL that until yesterday was loading the front page up straight away. Adding a few more records into the database has now taken that to 30 seconds. Could do with someone taking a look with my developer at 8am UK time to get this fixed. The last guy simply upgraded our MySQL, which made it a little faster but then when asked for more help wasn't available.
So I would like you to remote in and do some magic within a couple of hours please.
Any takers??
