Website Performance Testing & Optimization

Hi, I’m interested in the performance engineering aspect of the project, especially the combination of front-end diagnostics, backend analysis and measurable optimisation results. Before submitting my proposal, I’d like to understand the current environment and how you want the engagement structured:

1. Is the website currently live in production, and could you share the URL and a brief overview of the main user journeys that should be tested?
2. What technology stack is currently running in production, particularly the React/Next.js version, backend/API architecture and database?
3. Is the primary objective to identify and document performance issues, or would you also expect the engineer to implement the recommended optimisations?
4. Do you already have baseline Lighthouse/PageSpeed/Core Web Vitals measurements, or should establishing the initial performance benchmark be part of the work?
5. Are there particular pages or workflows currently experiencing performance problems, or would you like a broader site-wide assessment?
6. Will access be provided to the relevant infrastructure, application logs, database metrics, API monitoring and cloud environment where deeper bottlenecks need to be investigated?
7. For load and stress testing, do you have an expected traffic profile or target concurrent users that the system needs to support?
8. Are there restrictions around load testing the live environment, and is a staging environment available for more intensive testing?
9. What level of database analysis is expected, such as slow-query identification, indexing recommendations, connection-pool analysis or query optimisation?
10. For the final report, would you like prioritised recommendations with estimated impact and implementation guidance, or a more detailed technical remediation plan?
11. How should the before-and-after results be measured and accepted, particularly for Core Web Vitals, API response times and load capacity?
12. Is there an existing development/DevOps team that would implement recommendations, or should the successful engineer handle the fixes through to validation?
13. What is the expected timeframe and budget for the audit and any subsequent optimisation work?
14. Is the project approved and ready to begin, with the necessary technical access available once the freelancer is selected?

Will you be able to provide access to your server and your search console? What is your general timeline?
