Description
Experience Level: Entry
Scrape FCC Broadband Map: Addresses, Coordinates, Speeds & ISPs by State
I’m looking for a data expert to help me extract and analyze broadband availability data from the FCC Broadband Data Collection (BDC) map.
What I Need:
1. I want to identify specific locations across all 50 U.S. states where no provider (other than Starlink) offers 100Mbps or faster download speeds.
2. I also need one data point for each of the location in the field called" unit count"
Website to scrape from or perfect website: https/broadbandmap.ffc.gov/home
Project Scope:
Source: FCC BDC map or publicly available FCC datasets
Data Required for Each Location:
Full address (street, city, state, ZIP)
Latitude & longitude
List of all available ISPs
Download and upload speeds per ISP
Filter Criteria:
Include only locations where no provider (except Starlink) offers 100Mbps+ download speeds
If Starlink is the only 100Mbps+ provider, that location should be included
Locations with any other ISP offering 100Mbps+ should be excluded
Output:
CSV or Excel format
Organized by state (either one file per state or one file with state as a column)
Clean and well-structured for analysis
Timeline:
5 days from the start
Goal:
I’ll be using this data to identify underserved areas that could benefit from broadband expansion or alternative solutions.
Let me know if this is something you can take on, and what approach you’d suggest. If needed, And I need it to be down very fast, and there will be chance if handle it properly and professional to continue working together
Looking forward to your response.
