Power BI - Job Costing (2)

"We are seeking an experienced Power BI developer to build a job costing dashboard for our construction business. The dashboard should display key metrics related to project profitability, budget vs. actual costs, cost overruns by project manager etc. for active jobs. The underlying data will be pulled from our SQL Server database which tracks expenses, time logs, purchase orders etc. for all projects.

The developer will be responsible for data modeling in Power BI to normalize and integrate data from various tables. Dashboards need to be created featuring charts, gauges and tiles to display job status at a glance as well as drill down capabilities. Natural language queries also need to incorporated to enable users to analyze data quickly. Since the dashboard will be used by managers on an ongoing basis, developing a robust and maintainable data model is essential.

Security of sensitive costing data should be top priority and appropriate row-level security rules applied. The dashboard needs to support integration with our existing SSO authentication as well. Finally, the developer will be expected to provide documentation for dashboard usage and ongoing enhancements. Experience with construction management systems and Power BI service is preferred.
