Description
My use case:
1) I have a list of locations for all my posters (billboards) {location set A}.
2) My clients often provide a list of locations of all their stores {location set B}.
3) I need to be able to calculate the distance between each location in set A, and every location in set B.
4) Then analyse the results (e.g. "show me all posters within 500m of a client's store").
I can find
1) Lots of tools that will calculate the distance from a single point to multiple other points.
2) Code for calculating the distance between two single points.
3) Data processing tools to analyse the outcome (I could even do it in Excel).
I can't find a single tool that makes the calculations I need. I know that other companies do this - can you source a suitable tool?

Where abouts in the world is this ? UK ?.
Also, is it just "Crow Flies" distance you need, or would you be interested in "Walking Distance" or "Driving Distance", and would you be interested in identifyin "Catchment Areas", ie. all the bill board locations that are closest to Client A rather than Client B ?.Matthew D.15 Jan 2019Yes, UK.
Yes, core requirement is "as the crow flies" direct distance (given the proximity, linear distance will be an excellent approximation; although strictly a great circle calculation would be better).
Catchment areas would be useful, although I am open to using Excel to manipulate the data for this e.g. all posters within X metres of any client store.
Driving or walking distances would be good, but least important of these functionalities.
Jonathan G.15 Jan 2019HI Matthew ,
You mentioned in one of your other replies to the questions that the co-ordinates are "usually" in the form of latitude longitude. Is this "Defintley" the case for this work ? Also what format lat, lon are they in? decimal degrees or deg min sec ? and are they split into different columns or all in one column ? and whats the accuracy/precision of the co-ordinates ?. Is £30 you top price on this project ? My usual price is £60/hour but can do it for £50. -

can you tell me how many locations you need?
Matthew D.15 Jan 2019Typically 200-500 data points in each set.

What is the number of entries in each dataset?
Do you have GPS coordinates for each location?
Matthew D.15 Jan 2019Typically 200-500 data points in each set.
We receive address data in many formats; these are usually converted to latitude & longitude.
