hard drive stopped working and just beeps suggesting hardware issue. is not recognised by laptop or data recovery software when put in a caddy.

    I'm in Manchester, So bit too far away.
    Opening up an HDD, will most likely damage it more in my experience. I have managed to recover data in the past, and ive also lost data too because of same issue.

    i would recommend plugging it into a desktop with actual power from the psu, and then try certain data recovery tools.

    Theres a whole load of different ones and some are better than others, some will work where others wont.

    I think that's most likely your best option to explore.
    If i was much nearer i would give it a go but cant guarantee result tho.
