Wordpress - Homepage image and content page background colour

Hi there

I have two things I need help with on my WP site:

1. On the homepage, the first image just isn’t showing when you view the page but shows in the editor.

2. In the ‘select options’, I changed the content page background colour to our grey but then saw it looked terrible so changed it back to default of #f5f5f5, however it won't change. It also seems that the orange/green I put in there won't either. So I reset the ‘select options’ but still the colours wont change. Again, the editor says that it has the colours I want in there but but its not on the site. Our colours are:
#9DBB3A
#F6511D
#767A88

I would be grateful if you could also let me know what I am doing wrong with these two issues I'm having so that I can work with it going forward.

The website I am working on is a staging site and can be accessed by opening it via 'WP Staging Pro'
