Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: Craft showcases the art of visual storytelling.
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: Hi there,
We are hosted with WPEngine. They provide something called LargeFS, which provides a link between our Wordpress site and our S3 bucket. Read about it here: https://wpengine.com/blog/unlimited-storage-with-wp-engines-proprietary-largefs/. So It's their version of a connection to a AWS S3 bucket. They do most of the work, but they need certain details from me and setting up the bucket. Now, that's one part of the job;
1) using our existing bucket, configuring it correctly and handing it over to them to set LargeFS up.
2) The other part is securing that everything SSL wise still works with LargeFS. That means existing files are served through https as well as all future files uploaded.
3) Thirdly, LargeFS, from what I understand, is available for the world to see, so any content served from there should be non-private. At my site, though, most content will be restricted and thus private. So we need to set up public content to be public and have all restricted content be private. Both should be hosted at AWS S3.
4) Finally, it needs to be hooked up to NextGen Galleries, which uploads to a folder that is not just /uploads or whatever the normal WP folder is called. Rackspace (our previous host) did this with their CDN and said it was pretty straightforward, just specifying that content from that folder should be served at the S3 bucket.
From what I can tell WPEngine are engaged in helping out with this, so it won't be a huge job. But I would like a freelancer to be in charge of it, getting it to work.
So if you're interested, let me know your proposal!
Job task:
Finish the above listed points
Succes criteria:
LargeFS is installed correctly
All files uploaded are served through AWS S3 and LargeFS
All files are served securely https
I am able to choose if the upload is public or private
NextGen Gallery uploads are served through AWS S3 and LargeFS
Everything else is unharmed (including all existing images that are served through AWS)
Setup:
Wordpress
WPEngine
Currently using the plugin WP Offload S3 and Amazon Web Services to connect with the bucket
Budget:
The best offer
Deadline:

Extra notes: You'll need to sign an NDA, stating that you won't share the information with any third parties.
