Custom Wordpress Theme Edit for Wp Bakery (Visual Composer)

I have a WP theme that will jusy not work with the WPBakery page builder. I've built a new homepage on a different theme (visual composer starter theme), and want to implement it but there's an issue with the original theme. This is the new homepage: http://ascotdev.theleadenginedev.co.uk/

but when implementing on the live site: https://ascotmortgages.co.uk/ascot-mortgages-4/ (I can sort the styling it's just getting the full-width backgrounds I can't seem to fix)

I can't implement the visual composer starter theme to the live site as some of the page templates have a side bar etc.
