Description
Experience Level: Expert
I would like to create a new report page on the admin page of my wordpress (memberpress) site that provides a membership status report for a time period that provides comparisons with the previous time period.
By default, the page should display a report for:
* this quarter
* previous quarter
* this quarter last year
Users should also be able to move forwards/backwards one quarter (but also to choose to view weekly, monthly or yearly reports - and also navigate to previous weeks/months/quarters/years as far back as December 2019).
For each time period, I want the report to display:
* number of new memberships
* number of renewed memberships
* number of memberships continued (still active) from the previous time period
* number of memberships lapsed/cancelled this time period
So, each time period report should look something like this example, using the form:
Time period: MM/DD/YYYY - DD/MM/YYYY
* Membership type: Total
** New:
** Renewed:
** Continued
** Lapsed
So the display for our regular member type would include:
Time period: September 2020 - December 2020
* Regular members: 150
** New: 5
** Renewed: 45
** Continued: 100
** Lapsed: 0
This could be displayed as a list, or as a textual list of numbers in parentheses with mouseover labels e.g.:
* Student members: (2, 8, 120, 5) of 135 total
Whichever fits best on the page - which will include the same display for our other 4 member of 6 membership categories in total (Regular, Student, Retired, Unemployed, Special, Lifetime). No need for fancy bar graphs/charts etc.
That last category is a special case: Lifetime memberships do not renew or lapse, so that listing would just have to mention new, continued and total memberships e.g.,:
* Lifetime members: 200
** New: 5
** Continued: 195
So - here's a scenario to clarify how the report would work:
An admin user visits the report and sets a time period filter of 'Monthly', and selects the month of 'May' 2020. The report should generate 3 sets of reports next to each other that show the membership status reports from:
* The selected month of the current year = May 2021.
* The previous month of the current year = April 2021.
* And the current month of the previous year = May 2020.
