Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I need a change made to a website:
The website is serpost.co.uk, I have recently added a blog (www.serpost.co.uk/blog) however I want to display the blog posts, or more specifically, the first lines of the most recent post(s), on the right-hand side of the serpost.co.uk main page. i.e. so that a visitor to serpost.co.uk can see the introduction to the blog post, and then click-through to the blog to read the full article.
I want to keep the look-and-feel of the current main page as much as possible, but I also want the ability to place other non-wordpress items (maybe adverts) on the right-hand side of the page, so the structure (behind the scenes) of the serpost.co.uk main page will probably need to change.
So the two parts to the job are:
1) Change the serpost.co.uk main page to include a widget/ticker, showing the first few lines of my most recent blog post(s).
(if you have done a similar job to this recently, please let me know the URL.)
2) The change should allow me to add new widgets/adverts to the right hand side of the main page at a future date, which is something I can't currently do, becuase of the basic html design currently in use. So I need to understand what you have done and how I can build on it, so a handover process, by email or skype, is required.
I have included a mock-up of the proposed design, the positions of the Blog and News/Advert Ticker are shown on the bottom right hand side.
The *development* website is serpost.co.uk, the public site is volunteersouthamerica.net, you will have full access to serpost.co.uk if required.
The serpost.co.uk main page is written in html, the blog is Wordpress version 3.4.2
I am happy to clarify any issues as necessary, please ask.
