Assist with a Reverse Proxy on a WordPress Blog

I want to implement a reverse proxy so a WordPress blog on a subdomain (blog.example.com) loads as a subfolder on the root domain (example.com/blog). The WordPress blog and website using the root domain are hosted on separate servers. WordPress cannot be installed on the root domain server hence why I want to use a reverse proxy.

I will be managing the project and require assistance on configuring the WordPress blog when carrying out the reverse proxy.
