Synology configuration assistance

I am a designer based in greenwich, London (SE18),
I have a synology (for the past 3 years) and I am not sure that i'm using it correctly.

I need help with the following:
(i) to make sure that im using the synology correctly and that its backing up my mac in a way that i could recover the files if anything fails
(ii) i also want to be able to access my files remotely from the synology and want to know how i can set this up (basically to have my version of dropbox if possible)
(iii) i want to be able to store all my mac files on the server and therefore free up space on my mac
(iv) if possible, i may want to host 2no. websites from the synology
(v) I also want to sync my pictures and videos

..Also, if there is anything else i can do with the synology, i would appreciate your advice

I would welcome a visit to my space or if it can be done remotely, i'm available on skype and/or facetime...whichever works best with/for you
