I work for a small web development company in Johannesburg, South Africa.
We have one large client for whom we created, designed and manage a website.
We have their website set up using Laravel 5.6, running on a server using php 7.1 and nginx, and have all of it hosted on an Ubuntu 18.04 server, provisioned using a service called Laravel Forge. For all intents and purposes, it's basically just a Lamp Stack set up on top of Ubuntu 18.04, that allows us to easily configure SSL certificates, redis instances, cronjobs and the like from a simply web interface.
Recently we provisioned a new instance of the website due to the previous server crashing, and even though we set up everything exactly as before, we are having this very odd issue where if the website is accessed using an older browser, for example Firefox 37, it responds with this error 'ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap' and refuses to serve the website.
Myself and my team have googled for hours and hours on end, trying to figure out what that error means, to no avail.
We have even taken the step of changing the SSL certificate from a free Lets Encrypt certificate to a paid GoDaddy certificate, yet still no change in the error message on those older browsers. We can't come back to the client who are getting daily complaints from customers being unable to access the website with their older computers and tell them that we simply don't know. Yet I have tried every solution on the first 3 pages of many google searches, and simply haven't gotten the issue resolved.
We would be really grateful if you could give us a quote on if you have encountered such an error before, and if you would be able to fix it for us on your end. We can of course set up a phone call, set up ssh access, whatever you need to get the problem resolved.
