Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: We are a eletrical utilities provider
Description of requirements/functionality: Overview
An operations department within IQA is working on a new contract which has a requirement to generate automated texts to customers once an appointment has been planned. These will be sent out once the appointment has been planned as a confirmation, 7 days before then a day prior to the work as a reminder. Having this feature will represent cost savings to the Company due to the decreased number or visits to properties where access cannot be gained.
Rules
1. Texts must be sent for planned service lines on specified job numbers
a. The specified job number selection must be editable to allow for this system to be utilised on other job numbers. Therefore, any application must monitor all service lines that are related to specific job numbers.
2. Service order lines will only be planned on our systems when an appointment has been agreed with a resident.
a. This means that there will only be an appointment date against the service line when a date is confirmed and this can therefore be used as the SMS trigger.
3. A text must be sent out when the appointment is confirmed. 7 days before and a follow-up reminder text the day before the appointment
4. Texts will be sent out automatically using Messagebird’s API.
5. Residents will not have the ability to reply to texts as these are designed as reminders only.
6. There must have an easily accessible error log for fault diagnosis.
Summary
In summary, the aim of this project is to increase the amount of successful appointments carried out by IQA. This is to be achieved by sending automated reminder texts alongside the usual letter to remind customers of the appointment to ensure they remain at the premise. The system will be automatic and will use our ESM system NAV as the backend database and use MessageBird integrated with the MessageBird API to send these messages. The program will need to monitor the NAV SQL Database for new service order lines (Appointments) against specified job numbers set by IQA.
Specific technologies required: SQL 2008 > \NAV 2009 \MessageBird (API info in spec doc)
OS requirements: Windows, Other
Extra notes: Have complete spec attached
