Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
General information for the business: Data visualisation website
Description of requirements/functionality: Required is an opensource method of creating jpeg 2D color maps using XYZ data. XY are the coordinates, Z is the variable which is the color. The method could be python, or similar but importantly it must be open source.
The end user will be able to select:
The Z value they want to see a map for (the data attached only had one Z column to choose from)
The range (in the images it is 0 - 60)
Attached we have the X,Y,Z data and I want a 2D color map which looks as identical as possible to the image/s attached. The images attached have been created using desktop software but with the same data.
Notice the data has a column for labels and a column for markers. The markers are the + marks on the map and I want the ability to remove some or all of these + marks on request. Also notice the labels and the second image. Occasionally I may want to have labels added to this map so the system should be able to do this.
The color gradients on the map should be smooth and not like contour rings.
The color gradient / color ramp should be as close as possible to the attached images using the following RGB colors:
0% White 255,255,255
20% Blue 0,0,255
40% Green 0,255,0
60% Yellow 255,255,0
80% Orange 255,102,0
100% Red 255,0,0
The ability to add a title at the top of the color map is required too.
The server is linux based and our developer will implement this method within our website/ database. The method will only be accepted as complete when it highly resembles the attached images.
OS requirements: Linux
