Experience Level: Intermediate
Technical Training Sales consultant sells to a complex and differentiated market. Our market is large companies and institutions such as Fortune 1000 and defense contractors. In this role you will determine how our services can be designed or modified to suit customers' needs and advise customers on how best to use these services provided to improve the bottom line of their business.
By specializing in technologically and scientifically advanced training - you will build extensive knowledge of our deliverables, including components, functions, and the scientific processes that make them work. You will use skills to explain the business and individual benefits of these products to potential customers and demonstrate how these products are better than the products of their competitors.
You must be able to interest the intended client in purchasing these products and services, negotiate a price, and complete the sale. You can expect to work in the sales and marketing department.
You must have and use a “consultative” sales style; that is, our intended tag line is to help our customers by using knowledge to empower them. You must be able to focus on the intended client's problem and show how it can be solved or mitigated with our products and services. This selling style differs from the “benefits and features” method, whereby the salesperson describes the product and leaves the customer to decide how it would be useful.
In addition to retaining current clients and attracting new ones, our consultative sales engineers will help clients solve any problems that may arise with training evolutions. Afterward, your will continue to serve as a liaison between the client and our company. The lead sales consultant will be expected to be involved with market research to become more familiar with clients' purchasing needs.
