Experience Level: Intermediate
I need to be able to control 2 steppermotors where basically a steelwire can be winded from one wireroll (Mountet for rotation on the motor axle) on the stepper motor, on to the the other steppermotor wireroll.
I need to be able to control speed with a knob, and have soft start and soft stop. Control how many meters have to be winded. And beable to make a loop. Lets say wind 3 meters over and then soft stop and automatically wind 3 meters back, then loop it. I will have a free roll bearing that allows the wire giving motor not to be moved when the other stepper motor is pulling wire over. There has to be a start and a stop button.
The wire will slowly cut into material. When the wire is used up/worn out, there has to be another button I can press and the system winds a certan amount of ekstra fresh wire over. I need to beable to control how much wire being ekstra “rolled over” on a knob (10Ko potentiometer on an analog input)? So, when the buttom is pressed, lets say 3 meters ekstra fresh wire is rolled out, and system goes back to looping wire winded forth and back for cutting. Now I can live with out a display, but that would be really great to beable to se how long the wire is going back and forth – beable to see how long the wire will be when the “fresh wire button” is pressed – and last the speed of the wire going forth an back is.
Last a button to enable auto fresh wire roll out after X loops. Like when I have manually pressed fresh wire roll out, I can see that I loops 10 times and then I have to press the button again. The I can set this other button to loop X times (10) and then I auto winds fresh wire over. That way I don’t have to do anything my self.
Im looking forward to hear from you. If the Arduino is too small I will just buy a “Chipkit” or what you think.
Please tell me if the job is too hard for you or a walk in the park (( know I have to explain things better) I also know the values for real speed if the wire – the fresh wire roll out and length of that wire wi8ll not be precise. I just need to know in the software where I can change them, that way I can have the fit my speeds /length in my test rig.
