Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
General information for the business: Self employed software engineer
Kind of development: New program from scratch
Description of requirements/functionality: In General: I need a demo c# program that uses an existing Excel file as a template, in order to generate new Excel files.
In details: The source Excel file ("MyReportTemplate.xlsx") contains an Excel Table. This Excel Table contains some data, some design, a calculated column etc.
The c# program should:
1. Duplicate the source file and create a new file ("MyReport.xlsx").
Then, with the new file:
2. Delete the existing Excel Table rows.
3. Add some new rows to the Excel Table from a .net DataTable. (The cells of the "Total" column are calculated by the excel table and therefore does not exist in the DataTable).
4. The Excel Table will contain all the newly added rows, i.e.: the table range will be updated.
5. The chart in the new file should be refreshed as well, so it reflects the table correctly.
The program will run on a server which doesn't have an Excel Installed on it. Therefore, the program should use OpenXML format, AND NOT EXCEL COM AUTOMATION! 3rd party libraries that uses OpenXML are allowed too, if they are free to use.
Attached two Excel files: the template file - MyReportTemplate.xlsx and the outcome example: MyReport.xlsx
The program should work for Excel 2007 and above.
Specific technologies required: C#
OS requirements: Windows
Extra notes:
