Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: We are a listing and content directory
Kind of development: Customization of existing program
Description of requirements/functionality: We need a .Net Developer for ongoing support, updates, bug fixes and building new features to a WebForm .NET cloud based on a DotNetNuke web content management system. We require a .NET developer which documents and follows web2.0 standards.
We have an immediate need to address following issues:
Project 1
Advert Names which include a special character are giving an error page. A dash – and a hyphen ‘ and brackets ( )are causing problems. Although the amp sign & doesn’t cause any issues. It Seems that these special characters are somewhere not included in the coding…or forgotten.
Project 2
When searching the search directory from the home page; for example Hotel in Milton Keynes it shows this link which is perfect:
myexamplewebsite.co.uk/find/hotel/milton-keynes/buckinghamshire/UK
However, when searching from the sitemap, it shows this link which is incorrect:
myexamplewebsite.co.uk /find/hotel/Milton keynes/buckinghamshire/UK
The issue is that the code on the page that produces the incorrect URL isn't replacing the spaces in the double barrel location names with a hyphen, hence the web converts the space to %20. The code on the page that produces the correct URL replaces the spaces in the location names with an hyphen. We need the code on the page that produces the incorrect URL to be changed to work the same way as the code on the page that produces the correct URL.
Once project 1 and 2 will be resolved, there will be some ongoing development work for the right candidate.
CMS and Admin requirements: Website is based on .NET with DOTNETNUKE as a CMS.
Specific technologies required: Experience in .NET, JAVA, C#, SQL,
OS requirements: Windows
