Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Company Background
We are a small company based in Old Dalby, Leicestershire and was formed in 2005. It manufactures automated processing equipment to food companies within the UK. One of its main customers is Melton based Samworth Brothers where it has supplied and serviced many of their sandwich machines and other processing equipment ranging from conveyors, mixers and sanitizers.
Where do we want to be?
In 2013 we are planning an ambitious but realistic expansion of its operations. It aims to seek new overseas customers, develop systems in other food sectors apart from sandwiches (chilled cabinets, ready meal machines, pie fillers, etc.)
We also see the opportunity of offering a comprehensive spare parts offer alongside a general development and design service..
Much of Millitec’s current business to date has been of a re-active nature.
The historic average sales cost of our machinery is circa £100k
We have already started a recruitment drive with a new Marketing / Sales Manager on board (Joe Harkin) and the recruitment of further engineering staff is on-going. Relocation to larger premises is also scheduled within the next 6 – 9 months.
We have ambitious plans to penetrate into new markets utilizing its standing within the current industry.
We aim to be the go-to food processing equipment manufacturer of choice.
Website Objectives
The objective of re-designing the website is to deliver a professional, international image to potential new clients to match our ambitious strategic objectives. This site will act as a calling card for the company, its products and services. Millitec’s current strap line is “Innovation in Automation” – which we may or may not keep, but this ideal should be present within the new website’s DNA
Target Audience
The main target audience is global decision makers within food manufacturing companies. This is primarily a B2B proposition although we do want to raise our profile in the thriving Leicestershire food and drink sector
Timescales
Timescales are tight and critical. We are booked to appear at the Industry leading European Sandwich & Snack show in Paris on March 20th 2013. We want to be able to showcase our new website by this time
The new website ‘Wish List’
• Approx. 10 pages in size
• Highly designed overall aesthetics - a wow factor!
• Easy to navigate
• Premium feel
• Include animations
• Have a user friendly CMS in place to complete any subsequent updates (Drupal,Wordpress,Joomla, etc)
• Animation to be fluid across multiple platforms
• Site to be viewable on smaller devices
• Include Meta-tags and basic SEO functions
• Enquiry Forms
• Social Media and You Tube inserts
• Include a blog
• Available/translatable in other European Languages
Key Words
A number of key words have been agreed that need to be considered when designing the website:
• Innovation Confident
• Automation Quality
• Aspirational Market Leader
• International Premium
• Exciting Technical
Other relevant Information
• The current website can be viewed at:- www.militec.com
• We already have domain, hosting and email in place
• We would like to feature some scrolling technical 3D drawings of Millitec equipment - to better showcase our engineering capabilities
• Separately, we are looking to gently “refresh” the logo and general branding. (Possibly a more modern pantone of blue)
• This and the new website style will be used for subsequent sales literature
• We will look to supply all copy and images
• A current main competitor is http://www.grotecompany.com
• Creative input will be available though out the design process

You will be required to produce a quote for the above works and a submission of confidence to fulfil the above brief. Link(s) to some of your work that you feel would lend weight to your suitability should also be submitted at this stage.
After this initial information is captured we will then look to short list to three agencies where a meeting will be agreed where you can pitch some more detailed ideas for we to determine suitability.
.
a) Agencies will be sent the design brief by 24th January
b) Responses and an initial quote required by COP Tues 29th Jan
