Description
Experience Level: Entry
I have a system which produces spreadsheets with hundreds of rows of records. Each row, representing an event, consists of (among other things) a start time and a duration in seconds ordered by start time. I need to conditionally format the spreadsheet to highlight rows where more than 'x' records overlap.
For example, if 'x' is 2:
1) 09:05, 320
2) 09:06, 180
3) 09:06, 60
In this example, the events 1, 2 and 3 overlap because there is at least one second during which they occur at the same time and therefore they should all be highlighted.
If there is a better way to do this than conditional formatting, bearing in mind that the analysis will typically be visual, I would be interested in discussing other approaches further.
I appreciate your time proposing and look forward to getting this project underway.
