Hey,
Most of you on here know me as the "ex rock star"
My wife and I go out to eat alot in Seattle and the local paper and the local rags are always asking us for our take on a place, or what we thought of this food or that food. It's at the point where they ask us all of the time.
My wife and I would like to do something "together" that is fun, and fills what apparently is a need. So I have decided to create my own food blog.
I don't want a simple word press theme. What I want is a cross between that and a zagat style rating system.
I am known in the Northwest as "p" and my wife's nickname is "J". So what we want to do , is to have a system where we log into our website. We log into there and there will be a custom box where we can enter the "name of the restaurant", under that, the "neighborhood" its in, under that, the "address", under that there will be the usual zagat.com style rating systems.
What we want added is J points and P points. For example, my wife and I may go to daniels broiler and eat a fancy steak. When its time to blog about it, one of us will create the account in a custom box where we can enter the "name of the restaurant", under that, the "neighborhood" of Seattle that its in, under that, the "address" of the place and then under that there will be the a zagat.com style rating system what has:
Clientele (1-10) 1 being lowlife, 10 being crusty
Vibe (1-10) 1 being not coo, 10 being totally sweet vibe
service (1-10) 1 being rude 10 being total slave
Drinks (1-10)
Food (1-10)
Time
Bill
P points
J Points
Now here is the kicker, some places we will both like, but some we wont. I might like Daniels and give it 10 P points. She might hate it and give it 5 J points, so we each fill this out above and it takes it, works its magic, and gives a two numbers to the consumer.
Now for design I want the links to have something like
Home About P & J Bio's Why we do this Search Contact
So when someone types in a place to eat into google, and we have been there, I want it to appear on the search engines first page:
89% total points and 9 P points and 7J points!
So when the consumer clicks on a restaurant, and they see the link, they click on it and it comes to the page. On the page it will have a pic of both my face looking stupid and her face looking stupid. Next to the faces there will be next to mine for example P gave it "9" P points! Next to her face image it will have "J gave it "4" J points. The total P & J Points were 88% (the total for all of the scores on vibe, food, etc....
This "back-end" we want we also want to be able to upload up to 5 images per critique. So each page will have MY critique with MY pics of what I ate, and hers will have HERE picks of what she ate, and her critique. So the consumer sees the background of the site, but each page will be a page dedicated to that restaurant. People can "comment" below but we get to approve the comments. The comments are for both of us.
So we want a system were we can log in, create the page from our iphone, and we both can use our iphones to upload the images, and under each image put some text in a box that will describe what we are eating. Then we can remotely fill out all of the questionnaires.
Now while this may be informative to the public about what we think about food, people will get a kick out if it. The girls may all eat there if my wife likes it, even though I cant stand it. The guys may eat there because I love grease, and she hates it. If we both like it, its out of the park good review.
We want these reviews to spider into Google.
I will have a bio page for each one of us. What makes it interesting is that my wife is a liberal and I am a republican. I think you get the idea..."two pallets, two points of view, one score"
something like that!
Also, while my celeb status as a rocker is waining,we have been asked to participate in the Desperate Housewives of Seattle in 2012. So I want to get going on this site for obvious reasons.
