I am a website designer and I am looking for a easy to use website CMS or more accurately just give my clients the ability to edit their websites.
I have looked at Joomla, Mambo, and just about every other CMS out there, and they are all overkill. I need a WYSIWYG editor like FCKeditor that lays on top of a PHP/MySQL database in a Linux/cpanel hosting account. I just want my clients to be able to edit the content area of the page, as the navigation, header and footer will be in an Dreamweaver template UNeditable region. Much of my navigation is done through PHP includes.
I am open to viewing CMS\'s that have already been done before, but the key is EASY for my clients to update. I need it to be easily installed into multiple hosting accounts. Once installed, the site content will be written from within the CMS. Most layout will be accomplished via CSS to allow for easy sitewide changes.
If you\'re familiar with cPanel hosting, it gives you a WYSIWYG editor, but you have to log into cPanel and then navigate around to find your pages to edit. If you have a site editor interface included, even better. It could give my clients the ability to add pages, menu items, etc. I don\'t really want them to be able to change the graphical appearance of the site, as they tend to screw things up more than not. Just change the text, upload pictures or files, maybe add a new page and menu item, save it and be done.
I am partial to PHP/MySQL, but I\'m open to suggestions. I want the page content separated from the design, so it can either be stored in a database or even text files. Like I said, I\'m open to whatever works best.
If you have done this type of project before, I would like to see some examples. I know this isn\'t rocket science, but I\'m too busy to develop it myself, and I have several upcoming sites that I want to incorporate this CMS into.
Again, this can be as barebones as FCKeditor editing pages, or it can include an administration area where clients can add pages, delete pages, add navigation items, change text, etc. but not give them the ability to screw with the page design itself.
If you believe the above is too much then I am rspectfully looking for someone to help me use one of the originals out there like joomla, magento, drupal etc, either speaking through email, skype or msn.
Please get in touch if you\'ve done this before and please have some examples, or ideas of what you can do. I believe the budget is fair, if you dont then dont bid or message me. Thank you
