Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: More than 6 months
General information for the business: HEX-Based adventure and trading card game.
Kind of development: New program from scratch
Description of requirements/functionality: We cannot give out too many details before an NDA is signed, but please see attached for rough illustrations (not real graphics) of what we have in mind.
It's a HEX-based game with two game modes:
(1) Adventure,
(2) Card battle.
Illustrations are attached for mode (1) (AdventureMode.zip) and (2) (CardBattleField.jpg).
The illustrations show a top-down view because that is easier to work with when designing but the actual game will have an isometric perspective. I've attached some examples of how the HEX field might look like in the actual game based on images found on the web (HexFieldExamples.zip), but again, this is not final and depends on the graphics produced by the game designers.
In terms of coordinates, we will be using Axial Coordinates. See here more details about how this works for HEX grids: http://www.redblobgames.com/grids/hexagons/#coordinates-axial
All graphics/animations will be 2D.
I am ideally looking for a team that can take care of both the graphics design (UI, artwork, asset design, animations) and programming (Unity C# integrated with PHP API which will be developed separately), but I'm also happy if you can just take care of one portion and do it really well.
Please let me know your previous experience with Unity 3D graphics design/programming and relevant examples of work you've developed.
This is a long-term position. I'm estimating about 6 months to a year of design, development and refinement, so I'm looking for someone who can stick with this for the long term.
In terms of output, the game will need to be developed in Unity 3D and then published for 3 platforms:
(1) Web
(2) Android
(3) iOS
All code, assets and unity project files must be committed to a git repo at regular intervals. See here how the project will be integrated with Git: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/21573405/how-to-prepare-a-unity-project-for-git
We expect availability of the source files at all times.
Specific technologies required: Unity 3D Client, PHP API (developed separately, client will interface with this)
OS requirements: Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Other
Extra notes:
