Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
This is a MS-Access and VBA database work. Purpose is to elaborate a prototype to validate the feasibility and performance of a concept.
The output tables will be fed to an MySQL server within a prototype WebSite.
This database prototype will be used by 1 person only during 6 months.
Job:
1/ create a simple user interface to automate the upload of predefined Excel tables in MS-Access (1 user) (up to 8 different tables).
2/ apply defined rules and make computations between the MS-access tables. These computation must be launched by a simple menu (one button)
3/ Generate 3 output tables that will feed a MySQL database on an ftp server. The structure of these tables is already defined
4/ Test and debug, very limited documentation.
There is no technical complexity, and the user interface is to be kept very simple and limited as there will be only 1 user for 6 months.
The main difficulty is on the data availability and field definition and format between the tables. The Excel tables comes from extraction of different existing systems.
Linking the tables as we want may be sometimes tricky and require sometimes data formatting. The first analysis has been done, but will need to be tuned depending of the actual data availability and reliability we will face.
One of the expectation is your capacity to understand the output content and adapt the planned computation when required.
If there was no issue, I would expect the jib to take 30 hours. But I expect some need of brainstorming. that's why the job is per hour.
Timeline:
Job would start early May and must be finished by May 31st.
Organisation:
It would start by a half day or day meeting with me to review the specification, expectations and available excel tables and data structure/format.
Ideally, you could work from our office 2 or 3 days at the beginning, so I could be with you.The rest of the time you could work from your own place. Our Office is located near London Bridge.
