Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
General information for the business: Need most efficient way to store survey data
Database management system (DBMS): Microsoft Access
Description of requirements/functionality: I have enclosed 3 excel spreadsheets containing responses for different surveys. Each excel spreadsheet contains results for one type of survey. I actually have 5 but am allowed to upload only 3. I will send the other two after I have picked my expert.
I am looking for expert help in designing a MS Access database that will store these responses and future survey data.
Requirement 1: Create a Access database structure that will hold the data in the most efficient way. For example, can the results for all survey types be held in one table with some survey type ids to different the survey types? Should there be separate tables to hold quantitative (likert) values versus qualitative data?
Requirement 2: The data must be stored in such a way that I can write queries that will pull out the data as how it appears in the attached excel spreadsheets.
Requirement 2: The data must be stored in such a way that I can create reports that can show aggregate summaries on the likert values. For example, I would like to create a report that states for Survey A, question 1.... received an average of 2.5 rating. This example uses a question that has likert values as its possible responses.
Deliverables:
1) An Access database - does not have to be fully populated. Even just using two of the 5 surveys would be fine - I just need to have a starting guide.
2) A query that will pull out that data so that the results will look like the spreadsheet.
No need for reports or forms.
Specific technologies required: MS Accesss & Excel
Extra notes: I need someone who can understand and explain well in English. I have been burnt by miscommunications and mistakes due to people having poor command of English.
