Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Hi I am a IT support provider and one of my clients needs a Databse developer/trainer to help on their access based database
The following information details what we would like to achieve with some one to one Access Training support.
FIRST TASK – linking the casework table into the query tool.
• Our database has several tables listing e.g. the details of organisations, what services they need from us and what policies they have in place. We also have a field where you can see any casework that has taken place. However, I can’t include this information in a query or report. In other words, we need to link the casework table into the list of table options when creating a query.
SECOND TASK - Linking through the control source of new fields added to the design view of the database.
• Our current database is now limited in the information that we can collect. We want to be able to add new fields whenever we need to in order to capture information of current relevance. Right now, we need to make several changes to reflect the work we are doing on the State of the Sector, including adding a field to capture Primary Area of Work and Primary User Group, updating the areas of work and user groups, the list of services that we provide etc. I can add the fields but am unable to successfully link the data through using the data tab and control source. We also want the new data to show up on tables in the query tool.
The aim of having a one to one session would be to become completely adept at adding in new fields to capture information to the database as and when we like. Staff has an immediate skills gap that would enable us to use our database much more effectively.
