Kind of development: New program from scratch
Description of every module: PIC16F1517 microcontroller to store incoming data on SD card in text file. Text file must be readable by PC without the need for additional drivers. Data is to be received using onboard PIC16F1517 hardware SPI module.
Description of requirements/functionality: I need firmware written for PIC16F1517 to accept data coming in on hardware SPI module from thermocouple modules that then logs the data on an SD card. The data is to be received from the SPI buffer and sent to a comma delimited text file. A total of 9 thermocouple modules will be used. Thermocouples are interfaced with MAX6675 thermocouple modules and communicate via SPI to the host PIC. The
firware should collect 2 bytes of data from the SSPBUF register and send the raw data to the SD card. When opened, the text file should have each thermocouple reading in hexdeciaml format (0x0000). Each row of the text file is to have all 9 thermocouple readings separated by a comma. After each set of 9 readings is taken, a new row should be formed. The data is to be collected each time the INT0 interrupt occurs.
Firmware is to be written using MPLAB X and XC8 compiler. Firmware is to be well documented for fututre expansion.
