Description of requirements/functionality: note this requires hardware and software development.
1) Hardware: Use existing developers’ RTLS modules from Decawave to create system that will track up to 10 players and 1 football. This will consist of anchors to be placed around the football pitch and tags that will be attached to players and one tag inside the football. The system will output coordinates of all tags at 0.1s intervals for full period of a game.
2) Software: From this dataset showing positional (x,y,z,t) coordinates of ten football players and one football design a programme which can use logics (what combination of coordinates constitutes what) to interpret the data into footballing actions (passes, shots) and events (goals) and thus calculate statistics for the 60 minute game.
System architecture, including servers, also needs to be designed so that the data and statistics can be stored and accessed through the internet.
This application will need a desktop system-admin interface to:
- calibrate the hardware, control the inputs, check for errors
- start and end recording
- pair player profiles to tags
And a mobile/web application for players to log in and view their performance.
