Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Software engineer required with extensive experience of C++, OpenGL and Qt. You must have lots of experience with 3D applications - vector and matrix operations, and transforms between spaces. You should also be familiar with Mercurial, or at least be willing to learn how to use it.
The job is to add features and fix bugs on an existing application. The existing source code has been poorly written (not by me), so you must be confident in your ability to understand poorly architected, hastily written, undocumented code. However all code you write must be as well written as is practical, given the circumstances.
I will be reviewing all of your code changes, and will be working on other tasks at the same time. The reason I am posting this job is simply because I don't have enough time to do all of the work myself.
The right person could see this job going on indefinitely. You can work from home, and can work at hours that suit yourself. You'll probably work 5-10 hours per week, so you're welcome to fit this job in around any other commitments you have.
Payment will be on an hourly basis. When you finish a reasonable set of tasks (say 10-20 hours worth) then push the code to a central repository, and send me a breakdown of your hours. I'll review the code and the functionality. If all is in order, you'll be paid promptly. If I sense that you're taking the piss by charging more hours than you've worked (or if your work isn't up to scratch) then you won't be hired for any further work. This will not be an employment - it will be a contract for services.
Please provide a CV showing your experience of the relevant technologies, and state your hourly rate.
