Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: We are building a new data platform for Industry 4.0
Kind of development: New program from scratch
Description of requirements/functionality: The project is to write a server for news items, divided into news feeds.
To read the data it should present a standard RSS feed API which we will access with ROME ( https://rometools.github.io/rome/ )
We also need to be able to publish items to each news feed. These items will have the usual data: subject, body, timestamp, arbitrary xx=yy keywords.
We need to be able to do various meta operations such as list which news feeds exist, create new ones, delete them, and associate arbitrary parameters with them.
All access should have the usual properties of a server: being multi-thread safe, being accessible over a network and so on. We would prefer an HTTP/REST/JSON API for all the above functions plus the ability to read native RSS feeds back.
We also require example code showing how to access the system for all functions discussed and to demonstrate that it works correctly and performs well.
OS requirements: Linux
Extra notes:
