Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: This enables a Google spreasheet to be update with simpel detail
Num. of modules: 1
Description of every module: PPH026 – An onOpen function for a Google spreadsheet
The Google spread sheet below has one sheet, Requests, which, at the moment, four columns: date, time, id and category and may be invoked by :
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UUL9WDF-8-2Wg4ox1da0X3wi4WsoCaa1mgCIVG5mbwQ/edit?usp=sharing
I will generate URLs such as that above but with additions such as &id=271&category=GER007, etc.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UUL9WDF-8-2Wg4ox1da0X3wi4WsoCaa1mgCIVG5mbwQ/edit?usp=sharing&id=271&category=GER007
Although Google displays a slightly different URL, the added values are preserved.
I require an onOpen function that extracts the defined values (in this case id and category) and writes them into the next empty line in the Results sheet in columns whose headers correspond, in this case to id and category. The data and time of the entry are similarly written. Once this is done the default is that the spreadsheet is closed (and thus not displayed at all). There is no reply to the calling process that invoked the entry. If, however, the URL contains the phrase &visible=true, then the spreadsheet is displayed and the user must close it themselves.
The aim is to include URLs (or aliases) in emails with appropriate id and category values that enable the user to click or not as they wish.
The above sheet is quite open, please look at it. I would be grateful if you did not change it.
I believe this to be quite a simple project for a Javascript developer familiar with working in a Google environment.
Description of requirements/functionality: See above
OS requirements: Windows
Extra notes: A copy of the specification is given in the attached file.
