Job Description
We would like ot use a development tool like Reportlab. Please see : http://www.reportlab.com/software/opensource/rl-toolkit/faq/
PYTHON development skills would be advantageous!
I have a set of data that is generated from another program. The data contains a number of key fields. For example, the fields are;
Record Number
Speakers Name
Time Code
Text
Sound file (usually a WAV file)
I also have a header file that tells me how many Record Numbers there are. Also, the time, date, reference code.
I would like to assemble these fields automatically and generate a PDF file. The raw data might look like this
"1"
"10:02:15am"
"Bob Smith"
"My name is Bob Smith and I live in Vancouver, Canada, very near to the ocean where I go fishing on Tuesdays. I like to go fishing, except when it is raining."
+ a WAV file with Bob saying the text above like seg1spk1.wav
"2"
"10:03:10am"
"Sally Jones"
"My name is Sally Jones. I do not like the rain and I do not like fish."
+ a WAV file with Bob saying the text above like seg1spk2.wav
The assembly should look like this ...
10:02:15am, Bob Smith, My name is Bob Smith and I live in Vancouver, Canada, very near to the ocean where I go fishing on Tuesdays. I like to go fishing, except when it is raining.
10:03:10am, Sally Jones, My name is Sally Jones. I do not like the rain and I do not like fish.
Notes:
- If you click on the text, I would like to hear the original wav file play for the just the text section on the screen for that speaker (identified by the record number).
- I do not know how many record number pieces I will have per conversation - so the system needs to assemble the PDF file until it receives a 'Record Number = END' message.
- This needs to run automatically on a server and not be a manual process. The process may receive many conversations (each with dozens of raw data in files plus associated WAV files as well) in a 24 hour period.
- There is a need to add some automated formatting to each and every PDF file like a standard cover page (listing the Date, Time, names of all the speakers (usually up to 4 - and we can provide this ahead of the data records).
- On the bottom of each page we need a footer, date, time, a reference code.
- We need to number the lines in the document so that on the far right side of the document you see a line counter going up - marker on each 5th line. So 5, 10, 15, 20 etc.
- The text for each speaker should be indented a little, so it is like an indented paragraph.
- There may be a few more minor features defined - I will provide before development begins - as well as - I will provide complete input file header and file spec.
