Background:
As the Oracle Analyst Programmer you will be working within the IS team responsible for developing, implementing and supporting the Real Time deal capture and logistic systems for a large Trading Floor, many of which operate 24x7.
Because this is a busy trading floor environment it is essential that the successful candidate has exceptional communication skills.
The Purpose of the role is to:
* Quickly develop a good working knowledge of the organisation of the company, and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the business processes of the company.
* As a key member of the support team manage the resolution of system faults from initial logging through analysis of the problem, correction and solution implementation.
* Communicate the status of problems to end users, colleagues and management.
* Analyse and prioritise business processes and requirements accurately to produce high quality and timely enhancements to existing systems, or develop new systems where appropriate. Report progress to end users, colleagues and management alike.
* Quickly gain sufficient competence in terms of specific systems knowledge and technical skill to be able to become the first point of contact for application support.
* The development work will include design, code, testing and implementing user change requests as well as appropriate project work.
* The role will offer significant user interaction therefore communication at different levels will be required and developed where necessary.
* The candidate will need to provide both tactical and strategic technical solutions where appropriate.
